Great to meet you…

All about me, my journey and my mission

I was educated at the University of Western Ontario where I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Financial Economics. I also attended the Institute of Holistic Nutrition where I obtained a Certified Nutritional Practitioner Certificate with First Class Honours. I also went on to receive a Gut Health Practitioner Certification.

When I was in my early 20’s, life was good. I was playing hockey for the University of Western Ontario while attending school. My whole life up until this point revolved around hockey, which I loved most. One evening I started to feel a shift for the worst, for what was yet to come in the coming years…

Having completed my first year of university, I attributed my anxiety and heart palpations to school and hockey. But still needed to medical attention to rule out any causes. I always felt it was not normal for a young 20 year old to have constant heart palpitations, even being a high level athlete through out my entire life. But doctors told me “its normal, your too healthy”

Through out and after university, my symptoms continued and more seemed to just be adding on and escalating. I had developed digestion issues, neurological complaints such as dizziness, vertigo, numbness and twitching, depression and fatigue. But even with all the symptoms, doctors still either declared me as still young and healthy or that it was all in my head. From doctors, to constant trips to the E.R., to visits with specialists, to x-rays, to-ultra sounds, to MRI’s, to everything known in the medical field, nothing came up.

I decided to see a Naturopath at this point. After my first initial appointment I was relieved by the findings they had found: slight nutritional deficiencies, Adrenal fatigue, some liver stagnation and food sensitives. I cleaned up my diet and supplemented accordingly. I was feeling great after a few months but it didn’t last for long. Symptoms started to increase even more after the next couple years.

I was at a breaking point, I had to take leave from my career, I had to take a pause on social events including hockey and the gym, I had to put a pause on friends, family, relationships, I had to basically put a pause on life.

After constant researching, taking supplements and diets, nothing seem to be working. I decided to visit an integrative medicine where I finally had a REAL answer…

Lyme disease they told me. I always had an idea what lyme disease was but I didn’t want to think I could possibly have it because it always sounded very scary to have and there wasn’t a lot of research on the disease. My initial feeling was shocking and sad because not only was Lyme disease the only diagnose, but a list of other issues such as multiple system infectious disease syndrome, Bartonella, clinically suspected Babesiosis, microbiome dysfunction, SIBO, Candida, Mold Toxicity, hormone imbalance and deficiencies. I began to embark on the journey of chronic illness and healing.

Fast-forwarding to years of healing with food, supplements, lifestyle, and alternative healing modalities, These experiences shaped my life in ways I never thought possible and were all major catalysts that helped me step into my calling.

I realized that the vehicle for me to help others was going to be through natural medicine grounded in holistic nutrition and functional medicine, and since that day I have never stopped learning.

Despite the setbacks I have faced, I am beyond grateful for the health and lifestyle challenges I have endured, as they led me onto the path of studying and practicing holistic nutrition. Now I can look back on my hardest days and know that it happened for a reason. My mission in life is to help individuals get to the root cause of their imbalances and to teach them how to regain control of their health and overall well-being.
